After every gig, log a retrospective to capture crowd size, earnings, vibes, and setup notes. This data feeds into Venue Intelligence and Band Earnings.

After a show, you can log a retrospective to capture key details about how the gig went. This data feeds into your Venue Intelligence and Band Earnings reports in Analytics.

How to log a Show Retro

  1. 1.Go to the Shows page
  2. 2.Find a past show and tap Show Retro (or "Retro Complete" if one already exists)
  3. 3.Fill in any of the fields listed below
  4. 4.Tap Save Retro

Retro fields

  1. 1.Crowd Size — Estimated number of people at the show
  2. 2.Tickets Sold — If applicable, how many tickets were sold
  3. 3.Band Payout — The guaranteed pay or door split your band received
  4. 4.Tips — Any tips collected during the performance
  5. 5.Merch Sales — Revenue from merchandise sold at the show
  6. 6.Vibes — A quick word or phrase to describe the energy (e.g., "electric," "chill," "rowdy")
  7. 7.Setup Notes — Anything worth remembering about the venue setup, sound, stage, load-in, etc.
  8. 8.Notes — Any other observations or takeaways

All fields are optional — fill in as much or as little as you want. You can come back and edit a retro at any time.

Where retro data appears

  1. 1.Venue Intelligence (Analytics) — Crowd size, tickets sold, vibes, and setup notes are aggregated across all shows at the same venue, so you can see patterns over time
  2. 2.Band Earnings (Analytics) — Payout, tips, and merch sales are totaled in your revenue report

Band Earnings

The Band Earnings report in Analytics gives you a complete picture of your band's revenue across all shows where you've logged financial data in a Show Retro.

Summary stats at the top

  1. 1.Total Earned — Combined total of all payouts, tips, and merch sales
  2. 2.Payouts — Total guaranteed pay / door splits across all shows
  3. 3.Tips — Total tips collected across all shows
  4. 4.Merch — Total merchandise revenue across all shows
  5. 5.Avg / Show — Your average total earnings per show

Per-show breakdown

Below the summary, each show with logged earnings is listed with the venue name and date, a stacked bar showing the proportion of payout (green), tips (yellow), and merch (purple), and individual dollar amounts for each revenue type. Shows are sorted by date with the most recent first. Only past shows with at least one financial field filled in will appear in this report.

Tips for getting the most out of earnings tracking

  1. 1.Log your retro as soon as possible after each show while the numbers are fresh
  2. 2.Even if you only know the payout, log it — partial data is better than no data
  3. 3.Over time, you'll be able to see which venues pay the best, how your merch sales trend, and what your average take-home is per gig
